Use this blog to increase your site’s Google Ranking

I’m giving you a freebie today.  Free Link Love, with almost no effort on your part.  For all of you lurkers out there, this Love’s for you!

Here’s how it works

You have a massage practice (or psychotherapy practice or whatever) and you have a website for that practice.  You want that web site to show up in the top of the search engine rankings when people are looking for “massage city state”.  There are a lot of ways to increase your search ranking, but one most massage therapists don’t seem to know is this:

Commenting on Blogs will increase your Google Ranking

How?  Well, when you comment, the comment boxes will ask for your name, email address (I’m the only one who sees your email and I don’t spam because Spam is Lame), and the address for your website.  The search engines look at the comments on my blog, see your website address and give you some link love for what is called an “Inbound Link”.  That means a link to your website shows up somewhere not on your own page.  This means

You Are Somebody Important

When you comment on someone’s blog, not only do you get the link, the blog owner usually goes and checks you out, so your website traffic gets a nice little ping, and other people reading the blog will go and check out your website.  And there is another little spike in traffic to your site.  If you leave some information in the comment, it will show up in the search engines, too.

Comment Spam is worse than lame

My settings require me to approve your first comment.  That lets me filter out the spammers that my spam plug-in doesn’t catch.  It also lets me keep the trolls under the bridge and off this site.  Normally when you comment, you’ll want to say something Useful, Important, Noteworthy or people will mock you.  Ok, they won’t mock you, but it’s generally desirable that you try to say something worth reading.

Lurkers Abound

What is a lurker?  Someone who reads the blog but never comments.  One of those unverifiable statistics that float around on the internet states that only 10% of the people will EVER comment on a blog.  90% of the readers are lurkers.  I’d say that’s pretty generous.  I’m a lurker at most blogs I read.  And I read a lot of blogs, but a lot of them are very popular and so that 10% can mean 200 comments on a post.  I’m sure that someone has already managed to make the point I was thinking of.  But every now and then, I get in early enough that I can say something ground breaking and earth shattering.  Well, hopefully it’s relevant.

My Free Gift to you

For the next week, I want you to post a comment.  You don’t have to say anything of relevance.  This is your free pass for comment spam. All I want you to do is post:

  • Your Name
  • Your Business name
  • The city, state, territory, country (whatever) you practice in
  • Make sure you fill in the link to your site.

The search engines will now index you to the phrase massage and include the search terms you want:  name, business name, and where you practice.

Do it now

because in one week, I’m shutting off the comments and you’ll have missed your chance at FREE Link Love!  Tell your friends to come by and add their site to the comments.  Share the love!

Don’t forget to visit some of the other websites.  Give them some traffic.  And if you blog?  Include what your blog topic is.  If it’s relevant and I love it, I’ll put you in the Blogroll.  Massage Therapists Need One Another!

Link Love Friday – Because “All you need is love” (and a killer Google ranking!)
